Los Angeles County has some of the Strictest Building Codes Around. Codes so Tough, One Customer Almost Gave Up on Having a Swimming Pool. But We of course, Made it EZ.
Real estate in California is so expensive that people are often trying to make the most out of small spaces and in unusual places. The Seresinhe family had found a nice little piece of land that was perfect for their dream home. Nestled on the side of a hill, it was challenging but accessible. Of course, their dream home needed to have a lap pool to be complete, but no way was the local city council going to let them build one. Seems a traditional in-ground swimming pool would have caused the ground underneath to shift as their new house was on a hill side. They were sad to think they had come to build only half their dream - until they found us.
Because the city and the county have very strict requirements, they had very specific dimensions for a lap pool. It had to be under a certain amount of water - yet still be long enough and deep enough to provide them with swimming. In the end we helped them develop a somewhat shallower pool that gave them both the length and depth they needed to swim laps.
